This vineyard is located at the northern wing of Pazo Fefiñáns. This Pazo one of the most beautiful buildings in the inventory of the Galician historic architecture, built in a Renaissance spirit, stands at the homonymous square in the noble seafaring town of Cambados.

Established by Joaquín García Armada in 1959, this vineyard has its origins in one of the oldest vineyards in O Salnés, from which the first bottled Albariño wine was obtained at the beginning of the 20th century. Since then, efforts have been aimed towards the study and the preservation of the vines within the property in order to apply the outcomes to the new plantations.

All this, plus the new techniques materialize within the 6 hectares / 15 acres at Torre de Xafardán, where a series of Albariño vines grow. The R&D project studies the influence operated by the different conduction systems, and the quality of soils in order to search out the best growing conditions.

In 1990, the distillation of brandies from the refuse of grapes after pressing was updated, with eyes fixed on traditional Galician methods. Special attention has been paid to ancient recipes collected from monasteries which no longer exist, as well as to the search for new, original flavours in the elaboration of the liquors.
