The effort and dedication of three family generations
Lagar de Costa is a family winery, managed through more than a century with the effort and dedication of three family generations commited to the care of the albariño vine and to the making of high quality white wines. His initial construction, more than a century ago, has been object of diverse reforms, trying always to maintain his original structure of stone and wood.
Our Vineyards 6 Ha. of 100% albariño variety
90% out of the total ammount of grapes we produce comes from our own vineyards, some of them more than fifty years old, are located in the village of Castrelo (Cambados), situated within the "Complejo Intermareal Umia - O Grove (Red Natura 2000)", in front of the island of A Toxa. These vineyards are in a low terrane with altitude not superior to 100 m. and right next to the sea. The plot of land has a frank-sandy texture, being therefore a smooth terrain. The vineyards are tied in a system that is perfectly adapted to our zone because of the high humidity, with soft temperatures and generous precipitations well delivered along the year. The plantation frame is of 4x4 (some 1.200 vines by Ha.)
