The building where the museum has its seat is also known as Pazo Lis. It is one of the most relevant civil architectonic pieces in the municipality. The museum has a ground floor and two additional floors. It also has a library and newspaper archive, two exhibition rooms, a conference room, toilets, and an office.

The vertical corners in one of the façades are crowned by cylindrical structures, and there are large balconies. The building has a gate with a beautiful top and a blazon in between.

This museum evokes the important role of woman in the Galician rural background, in several aspects such as housekeeping, social, public, and private relationships, aesthetics, and her relevant role in the Galician folklore.

Among many other possibilities, this comprehensive museum offers visitors to know more about the utensils used in everyday chores, the country labours, and the rural social life. The museum also implements courses for University students.
