Pazo Cibrán dates from century XVIII, when the ancestors of current owners decide, following an incipient flow of agricultural development, imbue their lands with value and commercialize strawberry, fruits and, mainly, the famed wine “Viño da Ulla”, well produced on the slopes of the rich Ulla valley, where they possessed expansive grounds.
Thus, this ancestral home was built as a true reflection of the architecture of that area and of that time, and we can appreciate how the terrains were lowered to locate the winery to optimize its temperature. The house itself, only used during the summer, was located on the top floor.
The vine’s greatest splendor was at the beginning of the 20th century. The diplomas and the gold and silver medals to the best white and red wines of the Ulla valley obtained during the Regional Exhibition in 1907 are kept in the house.
These diplomas, the house, its centenary camellias and its lovely garden are the remains of that agricultural attempt.
Generation after generation, extreme care has been taken to make this environment the perfect place to enjoy a quiet and peaceful stay, resulting in a wonderful garden and an inspiring library.
Currently working as an agritourism house, apart from the charm of the establishment itself, its privileged location allows the visitor to enjoy its marvellous close surroundings as well as to use it as a vantage point to visit the main touristic destinations in Galicia.
