Pazo de Montesacro
was built at the beginning of the 18th century by the marquises of Montesacro in a land close to the old Pazo dos Charino-Soutomaior, from the 12th century. The builders` coat of arms (Zárate and Murga) is on its frontal part and it is marked by the Cruz de Santiago and an elegant flying crown through which an arm holding a sword goes out.
It is impossible to state whether it is the right or the left arm, what would change its heraldic meaning. The chapel devoted to Virgin Mary is in the same body as the country house. The chapel is under the protection of Valvanera, polychrome and sitting image in a beautiful Baroque high altar where the façade coat of arms is reproduced. There are two more on the sides but they have a poor relevance. The chapel was restored in 1894 by Dna. María Zárate de Melgar.
Localition: In Cambados, Santo Tomé neighbourhood.
