Pazo de Vista Alegre

Category: Monuments   |   Zone: Val do Salnés

It has been catalogued as a national monument. It has an enormous social, religious and architectural relevance and also high environmental importance. It has simple windows without any moulding on its granitic ashlar façade. The battlement tower stands on one of its sides and it has a currently bricked up angle window, in-relief busts inside circular medallions and an angle coat of arms. The entrance door is smooth with an arch and the moulding of the cornice stands on it creating a stilted semicircle in the way of a frontispiece, where the poor and already blurred coat of arms is sheltered. Two tall chimneys, a rounded stone one and a rectangular one, stand out on the two-sided roof.

Nowadays, there is only one tower at the country house because of the partial destruction of one of them and its later removal to the adjacent convent in the 17th century.

Localition: Rúa Vista Alegre nº 1 and 2, A Xunqueira, parish of Arealonga. Vilagarcía de Arousa Council. It is connected to the convent of Vista Alegre by means of a passage arch.
